Internet celebrity/wunderkid Kevin Rose (founder of Digg) launched his Twitter directory service WeFollow at SXSW. Interesting. Link to original article here.
Sorry if this gets posted twice but I had a problem with my laptop. Anyway, I wanted to say that I liked the link about twitter growth but that I think the part where they say the growth of Twitter *may* be more because they weren't counting cell phone usage should really be *definitely more*. I would say about 1/2 the time I tweet, it's via my cell phone. I'm sure it's even more than that for some people.
I'm glad I caught this comment. I was coming here to followup to my first comment. I finally finished my Twitter Resources post. Check out Twitter Tools for the Soul on my blog.
Heres another interesting one relating how Social networks can fall out of favor like the latest fashion accessory... "Twitter, Facebook and their social media rivals have transformed the way we communicate – but that doesn't make them a good investment."
Is what we are looking for just about a more efficient and fun way to communicate with friends – and, if it is fashionable and has a punchy, off-beat name? I would assume that all three contribute to its popularity but to me if its efficient and 'fun' the crowd follows... your thoughts?
This is great. Thanks for the link - I'll add it to my top twitter resources page that I'm working on.
ReplyDeleteAnother story of the exponential growth of Twitter:
