  1. I like this idea, especially in this new world of free and fast information. I think that the notion of free education is fundamental and has wide social implications about who owns education, who has access to it etc. On the other hand, there needs to be some sort of hierarchy when it comes to what is considered a "good education". Obviously, interaction with professors, an educational setting with lectures, libraries, seminars, colleagues etc are bound to create a deeper, more profound sense of college and educational experience.

  2. This is quite timely as I just finished reading an article for another class on virtual schools and their ability to supplement learning in the classroom. The article refers to tools like iTunes as the beginning of this new era though it falls short of mentioning iTunes U. One school mentions that their motto for virtual schooling is "“any time, any place, any path, any pace” and I think that's a really interesting point for us to mention as we think about how digital media can enhance learning. The part that stuck out most for me was "any pace" which can really help with differentiated instruction. Read more on my thoughts about the article.
